Argo Pride 2015

June 30, 2015     #LMSArgoPride

A couple of weeks ago we congratulated Zachary and now we are adding another 2015 Firestone High School Graduate to our list. While we are happy for all graduates, we are a bit excited to share success stories that include students who spent 3 years at Litchfield Middle School.
We have a few more students on our list to gather information from and we look forward to shouting from the rooftops about them when we do. ARGOS who are on their way to new and exciting places, far and near. We have a student who is getting ready to jump head first into engineering and another into music, but today we shine our light on Zoe.

Zoe Resmer graduated 2nd in her class in June from FHS with an IB Diploma. She attended LITCHFIELD MIDDLE SCHOOL and KING ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.
Below is a list of some of Zoe's accomplishments, awards and extracurricular activities . . .
yes, she has been rather busy!
FHS Marching Band, Brass Studio, Wind Ensemble, National Honor Society, and French Club
Zoe received a merit scholarship for 'and' attended Interlochen Arts Camp in Michigan during the summer of 2014 and played horn in the Interlochen Philharmonic
Zoe was named a commended student in the National Merit Scholarship Program, awarded the DAR Citizenship Essay Award for Akron, Ohio and a recipient of a Smith College Award
She played in the Akron Youth Symphony as well as the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra

will study Computer Science at the University of Rochester and continue her music education  by studying horn at the Eastman School of Music.

We are so very grateful to Zoe and her family for letting us share some of her story.
When we come to the end of Summer and finish sharing these mini bios there will be some 'closing comments' but for now, we'll end by saying:  "BONNE CHANCE ZOE!"

This soon-to-be Firestone High School graduate (photo below) is also a Litchfield Middle School graduate. An Argonaut along with his younger brother, Joshua, who leaves Litchfield on Thursday and heads to Firestone as a Falcon in the Fall.

Typing this little blurb I can't help but mention that this young man and his family are my next door neighbors and friends so as a friend I am very happy that Zachary has the chance to see his hard work pay off. As a parent of a soon-to-be sophomore (FHS) who is herself a proud Argo, and her younger brother who will attend Litchfield in a few years, I share Zachary's success so all can see an example of a student who attended Litchfield Middle School and what they can achieve.

Litchfield's staff pushed students onward and upward before the tweeks and changes, before the IB Curriculum was a *twinkle in Mrs. Floyd's eye, and, well, before Mrs. Floyd was even at Litchfield so if I may, the past was 'bright' as Zachary and many, many other students have and will prove, but the future?   It is even Brighter.

In closing, I'm sure the Litchfield Community joins me as I say "BRAVO ZACHARY!"

We will be sharing mini bios of other Litchfield/Firestone grads in the next week, three to be exact. Though I hate to give a one word label, for this I will, two 'musicians' and an 'engineer' (among other things) will be sharing their plans for the future with us as well as some specifics about what programs they took part in at Firestone High School.
